Day With Berbers of The Atlas Mountain
Imlil is about 64km From Marrakech. Brahim and Mohamed will organise your day trip there, including travel, mules (if needed), Guides, lunch and photo opportunities. The trip should be finished by around 5 o'clock.
Imlil is a very beautiful part of the High Atlas. It is also the starting point for many of the treks available in the area. If, after visiting Imlil, you would like to explore the wilds of Morocco further, then do not hesitate to contact Mohamed and Brahim for more information.
All walks are supervised by experienced, qualified, local guides.
Your driver will pick you up from where you are staying and take you to meet the guide who will show you around the amazing Berber villages. During your time there, you may have some traditional mint tea, or Berber bread and soup. The half day walk is about a 1 or 2 hour walk/mule ride at the end of which, you will be served traditional Berber lunch in a traditional Berber house – or perhaps outside under the walnut trees.
The full day trek will have you start from Imlil and head out to the Imnan valley. The walk is circular and during it, you can have lunch near the river before heading back to Imlil. Your transport will then get you back to Marrakech at 4 or 5 o’clock. The walk is 6 to 7 hours in total.
When you are picked up from Marrakech, at 9.00 am, the driver can stop for you to take photographs on your way to Imlil. Your journey will take you via Tahnaout and Moulay and if it is Tuesday or Saturday, you can visit the markets in Tahnaout or Asni. You will also see the awesome Atlas Mountain Range as you travel the countryside.

My friend & I took a day trek to the foot hills in Imlil with Trekking in Morocco. We were collected from the front door of our riad in Marrakech & driven (by Mohamed) to the foot hills. We were guided by Hassan, who was helpful & informative. He was very caring of my friend who was unwell during the trek & altered the route so we could walk a shorter distance & find suitable places for her to rest whilst we visited waterfalls, etc. We ate lunch with Hassan & Jamal & this was first class. All credit to the cook! There was a huge amount of food - cous cous, tagine, salad, fruit. All were beautifully prepared & presented and tasted delicious. Unfortunately we probably did not do this justice! Over all the trip was well organised with good communication. If we return to spend more time in this area, we will certainly be looking them up
