Central High Atlas
This bike trek takes you around the central High Atlas which is Morocco’s best region for mountain biking. During this trek you will visit the Happy Valley, Zaouit Ahnsal and Anergui gorges.
You will ascend to altitudes of nearly 3000m above sea level as you ride past features such as the natural bridge at Imi n'Ifri, and the rock carvings at Tizi n'Tighist. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to camp on the shores of a mountain lake, travel through the beautiful valley of Ait Bouguemez and as you head down the beautiful River Zawyat, you will pass beautiful scenery and even a few villages with Tighremt, or ‘fortified houses’.
It is important that you are confident riding a mountain bike and that you are relatively fit. Some parts of the trek will see you biking across over 30km of Moroccan terrain in a day.
Your guides and team are all well-trained, experienced and qualified and are drawn from the local populace. Your enjoyment and safety are always paramount in their minds. Contact Mohamed and Brahim if you have any questions.

After arriving in Marrakech, you will be received by our staff and check in at the hotel/riad, before spending the night there.
Day Two: Marrakech - Denmate - Imi n'Ifri - Tizi n' Amarskine - Imi n'Waqqa
A minibus will take you from Marrakech toward the city of Demnate. Along the way, you will pass a natural bridge at Imi n'Ifri (1100m) and ascend to the pass at Tizi n' Amarskine (2012m). After that, you will descend to Imi n'Waqqa at 1817m through many Berber villages before spending the night at a bed and breakfast. The day will involve 150km of transferring the bikes and 38km of mountain biking.
Day Three: Imi n'Waqqa - Tarbat n'Tirsal - Tizi n'Tighist - Abachkou - Assif Ait Boulli Aguersif - Agouti - Happy Valley
You will pass the village of Tarbat n'Tirsal and cross the Tizi n'Tighist at 2400m. Tizi n'Tighist is famous for its rock carvings or ‘rupestre’ which translates to ‘rock art’. There is then a beautiful journey down to Abachkou (1750 m), known for its hilly terrain and dazzling colors, through Assif Ait Boulli Aguersif and up to to Agouti at 1760m, the first village in the valley of Ait Bouguemez. You can then stay overnight at a bed and breakfast in the heart of the Happy Valley (you can also camp if you wish). The day comprises 51 km of mountain biking.
Day Four: Bouguemez - Tizi'n Tirghist Pass - Assamsouq Valley - Zawyat Ahansal
The Bouguemez to Ifrane Valley is where the next stage of your adventure will take you. The Tizi'n Tirghist Pass (2629m) has a breathtaking view right at the start, and the massive shadow of M'Goun is visible over the Happy Valley below you. As you enter the Assamsouq Valley, you will enjoy a stunning descent of about 1000m into the village of Zawyat Ahansal where you will spend the night. The day will give you 71km of mountain biking.
Day Five: Zawyat Ahansal - Mestefrane Rock - Imi n'Ouareg - Assif Melloul - Anergui
As you travel down the beautiful River Zawyat, you will pass beautiful scenery and even a few villages with Tighremt, or ‘fortified houses’. Eventually you will bear to the right and begin a gradual mountainside ascent which will afford you views of the impressive Cirque of Taghia and in front of you, the imposing Mestefrane Rock, known as the ‘Cathedral’. After drinking these in, there is a stunning winding descent to the bottom of the valley and along the river, which takes you next to the village of Imi n'Ouareg.
The journey will have a wilder feel as you enter the Assif Melloul. The route follows a path carved into the rock that rises steadily along the river. Sometimes, and with a bit of luck, you may come across the Macaque monkeys that have made their homes in the cliffs.
At the end of the gorge, you will reach the village of Anergui and you can go and explore this stunning region along the Assif Melloul or ‘White River’ known for its beautiful villages. After 74km of riding mountain bikes you can rest and spend the night in Anergui.
Day Six: Anergui - Roud N' Iroul Pass - Tasrafte - Ait Abdi - Imilchil - Lake Tislit
