Desert Trip Erg Chebbi & Zagora 4 days
This adventure combines a camel trek through the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi with a tour of the Todra and Dades Gorges. On your trek, you will also go via the smaller dunes of Zagora and Draa and pass many palmeries, which are areas of the land dedicated to growing swathes of palm.

During this trek you will also get the opportunity to enjoy some Moroccan culture in the form of a visit to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, sometimes known as the ‘Moroccan Hollywood’ due to the amount of filming that takes place there. The chances you have seen it in a western film are very high. You may also get to enjoy some singing and other local entertainment during your time in the home of the nomads and the Moroccan people.

What to expect?
Day One: Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou - Tizi n’Tichka – Valley of the Roses – Dades Valley
Your first day will start at Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, before crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass of the High Atlas Mountains and passing by many Berber settlements. You will eventually find yourself in the Valley of the Roses, where you will be able to eat a traditional Moroccan dinner and spend the night at an hotel with stunning views of the Dades Valley and the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.
Day Two: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi
After breakfast in the hotel, you will travel from the Dades Valley to the Todra Gorge. The Gorge is an enormous geological fault line running through the Atlas Mountain Range, which, as you travel through it, rises to 300m above sea level. During this part of the trek, you will pass palmeries and Berber villages until you reach Merzouga, a minute village from which you can set out to spend the night riding into the famous Erg Chebbi dunes. From Erg Chebbi, it is an hour and a half camel ride at sunset to a Berber dinner and a well-deserved sleep under the canvas or the stars.
Day Three: Erg Chebbi – Merzouga – Zagora/Todra Gorge - Ait Benhaddou
On your 3rd day, your early morning will set you up for some stunning views of a Saharan sunrise as you saddle up for the return to Merzouga. To get back to Merzouga from here, you have the choice to:
1) drive back along a circular route to spend the night in Zagora again in nomad tents,
OR
2) come back via Todra and Dades Gorges and spend the night in Ait Benhaddou (the ‘Moroccan Hollywood’).
Day Four: Marrakech
The 4th day will see you either returning to Marrakech by road or, if you prefer, you can head to the Atlas Mountain Range and continue to discover more of Morocco. Contact Brahim and Mohamed for more details.
