What to expect?
Day One: Marrakech - Ait Benhadou (the 'Moroccan Hollywood') - Tizi n’Tichka - Valley of the Roses
On your first day, you will need to transfer to Ait Benhaddou, a World Heritage site, which has been used as the location for over 20 different movies. You will cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass of the High Atlas Mountains and see many Berber villages and, once in the desert, you will come across oases and kasbahs (fortified dwellings that house families and their livestock).
When you arrive at the Valley of the Roses, you will have a Moroccan dinner and spend the night at a hotel with beautiful views of the Dades Valley and the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.
Day Two: Valley of the Roses - Todra Gorge - Mersouga - Erg Chebbi
Your second day will start with breakfast at the hotel, before you travel to Todra Gorge, a massive fault that divides the enormous High Atlas Mountain range. The Gorge will take you to 300m above sea level and through a narrow valley, with palmeries and Berber villages. Along here you will have some lunch, before heading to the tiny village of Mersouga. From here, it is an overnight camel trek into the incredible Erg Chebbi dunes – the highest dunes in Morocco. After the dunes, it is a one and a half hour sunset camel ride to a traditional Berber meal and a sleep under the stars (or in a tent if you prefer) at a Berber desert camp.
Day Three: Erg Chebbi - Merzouga - Marrakech
As the morning breaks on your third day, you will be treated to a beautiful view of the early morning sunrise as you saddle up for the journey back to Merzouga Meet Driver , You should arrive back in Marrakech by the evening.
