Highlights of Morocco

Day One: Casablanca

On your first day you’ll be met by your guide at Casablanca airport and from there, you’ll be taken on a scenic tour of the harbour, seaside and city centre. The afternoon will be yours to do with as you wish, before you head to your hotel for dinner and a rest.

Day Two: Casablanca - Rabat

In the morning, you’ll visit the city centre, the economic capital of Morocco, the harbour district, the Royal Palace, Mohamed V Square, the residential area of Anfa and view the Great Mosque of Hassan II before heading on to the capital, Rabat. At Rabat, you will see Mechouar, the Mausoleum of King Mohamed V, the Oudaia Kasbah that overlooks the mouth of the Bou Regreg River, the Hassan Tower and the Necroplis of Chellah that is situated in the Roman ruins of Sala Collonia. After this, you can head to your hotel for a rest and a meal.

Day Three: Rabat -Moulay Idriss - Fes - Meknes - Fes

You’ll be leaving for Fes, via Moulay Idriss, Morocco’s sacred city, which houses the Roman Volibulis ruins. After your lunch, it is then onto Meknes, the ‘Moroccan Versailles’ and a visit to the old medina, Bab El Mansour and a look at the modern part of the city, for contrast. When you arrive at Fes, you can eat and check in to your hotel.

Day Four: Fes

On day 4, you will be exploring Fes, the spiritual and cultural capital of the region. Your day here includes traditional arts, such as embroidery and weaving and authentic Moroccan food in a local restaurant, plus much more.

Day Five: Fes - Immouzer Kandar/Azrou - Beni Mellal - Marrakech

After breakfast, you and the group will be heading for Immouzer Kandar and Azrou, a Berber village famous for its agricultural co-operative. There will be lunch in Beni-Mellal and on the way to Marrakech you’ll be travelling through some stunning forest and mountains, the kind of scenery that Morocco is famous for.

Day Six: Marrakech

In the morning, you’ll have the opportunity to view historical monuments such as the gardens and the orchard basin at Menara, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs and the Museum Dar Si Said or the Bahia Palace. In the afternoon you’ll discover the labyrinthine and bustling souks (markets) with their numerous tiny little shops, and Djemaa El Fna square that has medieval open air entertainment.

Day Seven: Marrakech - Toubkal Massif - Marrakech/Casablanca

The 7th day will take you into the Atlas Mountains and their stunning scenery. You’ll visit the various villages of the Toubkal Massif surrounded by snow-peaked mountaintops and wild, ancient vistas. Here, you can ride mules or trek into the wilderness, eat lunch in a local house or out in the countryside, before your transport drives you back into Marrakech or Casablanca, depending on your hotel booking or flights.
