The High Atlas Mountains stretch out to the Moroccan-Algerian border in the east, the Anti Atlas Range in the southwest and to the city of Marrakech in the north. The Toubkal National Park is tucked away in the vast expanses of the High Atlas. The mountains serve as a weather system barrier that leaves park isolated from the vicissitudes of the Sahara and the more Mediterranean feel of Marrakech and the north.

Highlights

This trek will take you, your party, your horses and your guides through the amazing scenery of the Valley of Toubkal.

In the basins of the High Atlas, there is a wealth of plant and animal life in the forests, mountains and ‘wadis’ or valleys. In amongst the river systems, forest floors and plateaus of the region you may be lucky enough to find rare inhabitants of the eco-system. For example, you may come across creatures such as the endangered Barbary Macacque, Barbary Stag (extinct until it was reintroduced in the 90’s), the Atlas Mountain Badger, Cuvier’s Gazelle or the Northern Bald Ibis. You may also find examples of the Atlas Cedar, the Algerian Oak or the Black European Pine which grows to be between 20 and 55 metres in height when mature.

Should you wish to make any alterations to your adventure, then do not hesitate to contact Brahim and Mohamed to discuss your options.

All treks are led and supervised by qualified and experienced guides and mule handlers, drawn from the local populace.
